Diversity Policy
Updated: 7 September 2026
Cecilia Prize’s editorial and working standards require respectful treatment of people from different backgrounds. International dating content should help readers understand individuals without ranking nationalities, genders or ethnic groups as more desirable, trustworthy or suitable for marriage.
Respect in content and conduct
Discrimination, dehumanizing language and harassment have no place in work carried out for Cecilia Prize. This applies to treatment connected with race, colour, ethnic or national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, family circumstances and other characteristics protected by applicable law.
The website’s adult audience requirement is 18 and over. That eligibility limit does not justify mocking age or making unsupported assumptions about people of different generations.
Individual preferences and equal dignity
People can decide whom they wish to date and can decline contact. Personal choice does not justify threats, humiliation or discriminatory abuse. Articles should distinguish a reader’s compatibility preferences from claims about the worth or behaviour of an entire group.
Nationality, appearance, religion or relationship status must not be used as a shortcut for character. The Community Guidelines apply the same expectation of respect to interpersonal conduct.
Editorial representation and access
Writing should use clear language and explain unfamiliar terms. Translations should preserve meaning and tone rather than add stereotypes. Illustrations must not falsely imply a person’s identity, membership or endorsement.
Accessibility concerns should be considered on their merits. A request for a readable format or another reasonable adjustment should receive individual consideration without requiring unnecessary personal or medical detail. This policy does not claim a particular accessibility certification.
Work and concerns
Selection of contributors and service providers should focus on relevant skills, reliability and the requirements of the work. Pay decisions must follow the principles in our Gender Pay Gap policy. Coercive work is incompatible with our Statement Against Slavery.
For concerns about material published on the site, consult the Contact page for published contact information. The Editorial Guidelines explain correction standards.
