Advertiser Disclosure
Updated: 7 September 2026
This policy governs advertising, sponsorship and other commercial placements associated with Cecilia Prize. It explains how a commercial relationship must be distinguished from independent editorial information. The existence of this policy does not identify any particular company as an advertising partner.
Clear identification of commercial content
Where content or placement is paid for, it must be identified in plain language such as “Advertisement” or “Sponsored.” The explanation must appear where readers encounter the material, including on a small screen. A disclosure hidden only in a general policy page is not sufficient.
A paid position must not be represented as an independent ranking. If compensation affects placement, that relationship must be explained near the comparison or recommendation it affects.
Editorial decisions and evidence
Sponsors do not purchase favourable factual conclusions, concealed endorsements or the removal of a justified criticism. Claims about prices, verification, features or results require evidence, whether they originate with an advertiser or an author. A business relationship cannot substitute for that evidence.
The Editorial Guidelines govern research, authorship and corrections. The No Gift Policy addresses personal benefits that could distort a decision.
Reader choice and external providers
An advertisement does not guarantee another service’s suitability or conduct. Check the provider’s current terms before sharing information or making a purchase. A commercial placement must not imitate an account alert, private message or safety notice to pressure a reader into acting.
Cecilia Prize’s content is for adults aged 18 and over. Commercial messages must not exploit loneliness, vulnerability or an expectation of guaranteed marriage or financial support.
Related disclosures
Where a link can generate compensation from a referral or purchase, the Affiliate Disclosure applies. Tracking and promotional contact remain subject to the Privacy Policy and Marketing Practices; an advertising label does not replace required consent.
For a concern about unclear commercial identification, consult the Contact page for published contact information and identify the relevant material.
